SEPTEMBER 10 - TOM DALEY (pictured) will be back in action next week when he competes for Britain at the World Junior Diving Championships in Aachen, Germany.

The 14-year-old from Plymouth has had little time to reflect on his Beijing Olympic Games experience as it was straight back into training in preparation for this event.

Remarkably, Daley made his debut in the Olympics without ever having competed in this event as he was too young previously.

After watching Daley and his senior counterparts take on the world last month, the junior team are ready to show what exciting prospects they are for London 2012.

For the rest of the squad they have all been in hard training since they excelled at the European Junior Diving Championships in Belarus and will be looking to continue their good form in Germany.

City of Sheffield divers James Milton and Megan Sylvester, competed at their first major international competition in Belarus, both showed their potential by winning gold and silver respectively in the platform event.

Southampton Diving Academy's Chris Mears also showed his all round ability after becoming the only British athlete to win medals on all of the boards at a European Junior Championships.

Junior development coach Adam Sotheran will be looking for the junior athletes to once again step up and show the world just how much potential they have when the event starts next Tuesday.

He said: "We have the same team going over to Germany that competed at the European Junior Championships and they dealt with the competition environment extremely well.

"However, there are going to be unknowns at this competition.

"We get to compete against European countries every year but for the junior divers to be exposed to the likes of China, Canada and the USA will be a first for many.

"The squad will be going there with the confidence that a successful international competition brings and I am very excited to see how well they are going to compete in Germany."
