AUGUST 8 - SHEFFIELD are in discussions with China, Brazil, Canada and South Africa about setting up a pre-Games training camp in the build-up to the 2012 Olympics there, it was reported today.

 

The Sheffield Star claimed in a report published today that the countries were identified duringt aa briefing by Paul Billington, head of Activity Sheffield, and Ben Brailsford, the city's deputy 2012 delivery manager.

They are expecting a decision to be made within the next 12 months.

 

In May the Yorkshire city revealed that it had held discussions with Canada, who were impressed with their facilities, which include the English Institute of Sport, the Don Valley Stadium and the swimming facilities at Ponds Forge.

 

Sheffield have also held talks with Serbia.
