altSEPTEMBER 10 - GERMANY inflicted a potentially fatal blow on England's hockey players at they beat them 2-1 in the third match of their World Cup campaign in Moechengladbach today.

 

With Holland and South Africa still to play in Group B, England face an extremely tough task if they are to qualify for the semi-finals.

 

Christopher Zeller scored twice for the Germans, the second from a penalty stroke after England had themselves equalised through a penalty stroke from Simon Mantell.
