BRITISH glamour model Katie Price (pictured with Sebastian Coe) has appeared today in the dressage competition at the Horse of the Year Show at the LG Arena in Birmingham as she begins an unlikely campaign to qualify for London 2012.

The 31-year-old, who as Jordan made millions by posing topless in countless lads magazines, and has become a staple of tabloid tittle-tattle, gave a dressage demonstration wearing a black gold-edged jacket and white jodhpurs, topped off with a sparkly black dressage hat.

She entered the ring in Birmingham to the sound of Australian husband Peter Andre's biggest hit, Mysterious Girl, on her mount Jordan's Glamour Girl.

Price has been riding since the age of seven and has hopes of taking part in the 2012 London Olympics.

She said: "What's wrong with somebody like me doing it?

"I think I'm bringing glamour to it and I've only been doing it three months.

"I really enjoyed doing it and everyone here has been very welcoming - there's no snobbery.

"People in the horsebox area say 'good luck'.

"They can appreciate the fact that I've been riding since I was seven."

When asked if she was serious about entering the London Olympics, the feisty rider said, "never underestimate Pricey."

Horse of the Year Show Director, Mark Wein said: "We're delighted Katie joined us.

'As a passionate and committed rider, Katie fully appreciates the efforts required to qualify for the Show and is relishing the opportunity to showcase her developing skills alongside our expert competitors."

Last month Price was unveiled as the face of a new campaign promoting Hoof, a group set-up to encourage more people to take up horse riding to create a lasting legacy for the sport from the 2012 Olympics.
