altCHANNEL 4 will be airing tonight’s Dispatches documentary into Sebastian Coe’s role in London’s Olympic bid despite discussions between the broadcaster and his lawyer Carter Ruck.

The documentary is expected to make allegations related to Coe's involvement in the bid for the 2012 Games.

Channel 4 said it has worked to a standard right-to-reply procedure with Coe’s lawyers, Carter-Ruck, and has been in dialogue with them.

A spokeswoman said: “We're very measured and factual about what we're reporting in the programme."

Channel 4 added that press reports have mentioned claims (regarding Coe) that have arisen from their own investigations rather than anything that appears in the programme.

Dispatches will air tonight at 8pm on Channel
