altA SERIES of jobs connected with the London Olympics in 2012 have started to be advertised, with several offering six-figure salary packages. Among the posts on offer is a role as director to the Olympic Board, the partnership of four stakeholders, including Games Minister Tessa Jowell and 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe. The job offers a six-figure salary.

 

An advert in this week's Sunday Times said the successful person will have a record of successful delivery in complex, multi-party, time driven environment; effectively managed a programme support unit on a significant programme; be an accomplished relationship manager, lateral thinker and effective collaborator and have experience of programme management best practice, with excellent forecasting and planning skills.

 

Other opportunities include the chance to be a board member to the Olympic Delivery Authority, the body that will be in charge of building the facilities and infrastructure for the Games, offering £500 per day for two days per month.

 

The 5-Boroughs, a group consisting of Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest, have advertised for a £125,000-per year executive director to help them secure a sustainable legacy from the 2012 Olympics.

 

Hackney Council, meanwhile, are seeking a chief executive to oversee its preparations for the Games and maximise their potential.

 

M­eanwhile, outside London, the South West of England has begun officially advertising for a Director for the 2012 Games offering up to £76,344 per year.
