MAY 12 - BRITISH basketball's efforts to ensure they qualify for the London Olympics will continue at the 02 Arena, a venue for 2012, later this year.

THe men will face the Czech Republic at the former Millennium Dome on Saturday September 6.

The O2 Arena is due to host baskebtall and gymnastics during the 2012 Olympics.

The team then faces Bosnia at the National Indoor Arena  in Birmingham on September 10 and Israel at the Liverpool Arena on September 13.

Britain's women's team will play all four of their home games at the Welsh Institute of Sport in August and September.

Britain men's warm-up matches for the six crucial ties include tournaments in Sardinia and Turkey and two matches in Mons in Belgium, where coach Chris Finch and three of the players are based.

They travel to Israel for their opening qualifier before the run of three successive home games and complete their schedule with away games against the Czechs and Bosnia.

The team is seeking to qualify for the European finals for the first time since 1981 and also secure a host's berth at the 2012 Olympics.

The O2 hosted basketball last October when the NBA's Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves played an exhibition game.
