May 13 - Vero, the sport business communications consultancy founded by former London 2012 spin doctor Mike Lee (pictured), has announced the appointment of Jess Ord as account manager.

Ord has over five years communications experience and has managed high profile UK and International PR campaigns for a number of leading sport, consumer and technology brands.

She joins Vero from Comic Relief where she played a key role in the development and execution of the Sport Relief 2010 media campaign.

Previously she worked at Cohn & Wolfe and Freud Communications.

Lee said: "We are very excited that Jess has joined the Vero team.

"Her consumer brand and Sport Relief experience along with her network of media contacts add further depth to the Vero offer.

"She will play a key role across a number of our new accounts and I believe she will be a great asset to Vero.”

Vero worked on Rio de Janeiro's successful bid for the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics, as well as rugby sevens campaign to get on the Olympic programme.

They are currently managing Qatar's bid to host the 2022 World Cup.

Ord said: "Vero has an excellent reputation, a unique position in the market place and an impressive track record at delivering outstanding campaigns.

"I’m delighted to be joining such a successful team and I look forward to working with Vero's ever-expanding list of sporting clients.”
