Godwin to miss Paris Olympics due to injury

Australian gymnast Georgia Godwin announced on Instagram this week that she has sustained an achilles injury just days out from the Australian Gymnastics Championships. Godwin was part of the team that obtained an Olympic quota last year, suffered the injury while training, and will not be participating in the national championships nor the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. 

The seven-time national champion had previously missed the chance to represent Australia in Rio in 2016
