On 23 May, around 50 organisations, including the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the EUSA Institute, took part in the National Volunteering Week 2024 at the Preseren Square in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The event is an annual celebration of volunteering, organised by Slovenska Filantropija, which serves as a celebration of volunteering, an opportunity for organisations to promote their initiatives, and a chance for volunteers from different groups to meet and exchange experiences.

EUSA and its Institute were represented at the stand by EUSA volunteers Giacomo Mori and Simone De Luca, under the supervision of EUSA Communication Officer Kiki Hristova.

EUSA focused on promoting the upcoming biggest university sports event in Europe, the European Universities Games in Debrecen and Miskolc from 12 to 24 of July, as well as on providing information about the organisation, its goals, projects and volunteering programmes. This education was done through an interactive game, a mixture of questions related to EUSA combined with different challenges involving short physical activities.

They gave passers-by the opportunity to play this interactive game, to learn more about what EUSA offers as an organisation, to promote our aims, core values and main sporting and educational activities, and win various gifts and EUSA promotional materials.

The EUSA stand also promoted current and future projects and initiatives such as ESOM, DiscoverU, Fit4Green, YouMind, the International Day of University Sport, and many more. There were many discussions about volunteering opportunities and experiences at EUSA events, mainly promoting the opportunity to volunteer at the upcoming EUG 2024 and create another great summer sporting experience

Meeting and getting to know other different organisations, working for various causes and offering many volunteering opportunities for all generations is one of the many benefits of this event and the National Volunteering Week in Ljubljana, which organises and hosts this meeting every year, offers.

The EUSA Institute offers various volunteering opportunities at sporting events and on an annual basis through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme. Since 2014, EUSA has welcomed ESC volunteers who participate in the daily activities of the Ljubljana office and also actively contribute to various EUSA events and project activities.
