Several Olympic, World and Pan-American medallists from the American continent are rigorously preparing for Paris 2024 and will gather in Mulhouse (Alsace, France) from Sunday.


This Sunday, 14 July, will see the start of a training camp for athletes from several countries ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Several Olympic, World and Pan-American medallists from the American continent will be present on the eastern border of France, close to Switzerland and Germany.

In total, more than 135 athletes from 31 countries will be using Mulhouse (Alsace) as their training base before heading to the French capital for the Olympic Games, which will capture the world's attention from 24 July (the start of competition) until 11 August, when the 33rd Olympic Games will come to an end with the Closing Ceremony.

Marileidy Paulino from the Dominican Republic, Neisi Dajomes from Ecuador and Anderson Peters from Grenada are just some of the stars who will be taking part in this camp.

The city of Mulhouse in Alsace, 540 km from Paris, is ready to welcome the athletes from the Americas to the most-attended pre-Olympic training camp in the world.

A total of 32 countries will take part in this camp, organised by Panam Sports and the Mulhouse Alsace Agglomeration, from 14 July to 4 August: Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Dominica, Ecuador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, British Virgin Islands, Virgin Islands, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Suriname, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay.

More than 135 athletes from the Americas and their coaches will take part in this prelude to Paris 2024. 

A total of 15 disciplines will be represented: Athletics, badminton, boxing, artistic gymnastics, judo, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, rowing, taekwondo, archery, shooting, table tennis, triathlon and beach volleyball.

Olympic, World and Pan-American medallists such as Marileidy Paulino, Karla Navas, Neisi Dajomes and Alexander Ogando are among those attending the camp, which is located three hours by train from the French capital.

Key figures of the Mulhouse Alsace camp:

1. Marileidy Paulino (Dominican Republic): Team Panam Sports ambassador. World champion in the 400m and 4x400m mixed relay, Olympic silver medallist in the 400m and 4x400m mixed relay in Tokyo 2020 and double Pan American champion in Santiago 2023. She will also be the flag bearer for her country at Paris 2024.

2. Neisi Dajomes (Ecuador): Olympic weightlifting champion in Tokyo 2020, world champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Pan American champion at Lima 2019 and flag bearer for Ecuador at Paris 2024.

3. Anderson Peters (Grenada): Double World Champion in the javelin at Doha 2019 and Eugene 2022. Pan American champion in Lima 2019.

4. Flor Ruiz Hurtado (Colombia): Silver medallist in the javelin at the World Championships in Budapest 2023 and Pan American Champion in Santiago 2023.

5. Angie Palacios (Ecuador): Pan American champion in weightlifting in Santiago 2023, world champion in 2022 and 2023.

6. Hillary Herón (Panama): Runner-up at the 2024 Pan American Championships, bronze medallist at the 2023 World Gymnastics Championships in Cairo.

7. Karla Navas (Panama): Gold medallist at the World Championships in Doha in 2024. Pan American Champion in Santa Marta 2024.

8. Lisseth Ayovi (Ecuador): Weightlifting silver medallist at Santiago 2023 and bronze medallist at the Riyadh 2023 World Championships.

9. Alexander Ogando (Dominican Republic): Olympic silver medallist in the 4x400m mixed relay at Tokyo 2020 and recent Diamond League champion at Paris 2024.
