The French forward was officially showcased as a Real Madrid player on Tuesday having signed a five-year contract with the Champions League winners that will see him wear the No. 9 shirt.

Over 80,000 ecstatic Madridistas packed into the Santiago Bernabéu chanting Kylian Mbappé's name throughout the free-entrance ceremony as his parents and former French Real Madrid superstar, Zinedine Zidane looked on.

"For years I've dreamed of playing for Real Madrid and today my dream has come true,” said the 25-year-old forward. “I'm a happy boy. I'm going to give my life for this club."

The end of Mbappé’s trophy-laden 7-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain was announced last month along with his intention to join Spanish giant Real Madrid upon the expiration of his contract.

Though he officially became a Real Madrid player on 1 July, the France captain’s presentation had to be delayed due to the Euro 2024 which saw France knocked out in the semi-finals to eventual champions Spain.

With Madrid still feeling the hangover of their Euro 2024 winners parade, ecstatic fans were quickly back to celebrating, this time due to the arrival of one of football's most prodigious and sought-after talents.

Mbappé joins a formidable squad that won the club’s 15th Champions League title in June and already boasts an ominous offensive line consisting of England superstar Jude Bellingham and Brazil attackers Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

Despite having won six Ligue 1 titles and four French Cups during his stay at Parc des Princes, amassing 256 goals in 308 appearances in the process, Mbappé will be hoping to get his hands on a Champions League medal that still eludes him and help strive towards a shot at the Ballon d'Or.

While the superstar’s salary of €15 million a season and over €100 million in signing-on fees will likely be offset by sponsorships and merchandise sales, Real Madrid will be hoping he can replicate the form that saw him become Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time top scorer and help defend their La Liga and Champions League crowns.

Real Madrid will start the season against Real Mallorca on Sunday, 18 August but Mbappé’s debut is likely to come the week after when 'Los Blancos' take on the recently promoted Real Valladolid on Sunday, 25 August.
