American boxer Ryan Garcia, suspended by the World Boxing Council for doping, has called for an Olympic boycott, labeling last Friday's opener a "farce." He tweeted insults for nearly an hour, criticizing the drag queen performance as an attack "against the Catholic religion."

Not for his successes in the ring, of which there are many thanks to his talent, but for the opposite, Garcia is back in the news. The American boxer, who is currently suspended by the World Boxing Council for using drugs before a fight, has made headlines for his fierce criticism on social media.

Garcia's messages on his social media were highly critical of the organisers, saying that the street performance in Paris made him feel unwell. "I just threw up," he said, urging people not to go and watch the ceremony at all. "Don't support this crap", "I'll never watch the Olympics again".

The boxer later stated, "The drag queen performances are an attack on the Catholic religion: "If you don't think it's serious, it's because you don't love Jesus."

Some have felt that the opening ceremony deviated from Olympic traditions and was overly provocative. Ryan Garcia, who spent nearly an hour on social media during the event, voiced his discontent.

He was particularly outraged by the depiction of Bacchus and the presence of 18 performers at the meal, which he viewed as a disrespectful twist on Christ's Last Supper with his apostles.

While the organizers aimed to showcase Paris's inclusiveness, the provocative costumes and the inclusion of drag queens were not well-received by everyone.

King Ry’ erupted with anger, declaring, “I will never, ever, ever watch the Olympics again.” In response, the official Olympic account addressed García’s criticism and the apparent misunderstanding of the performance. They clarified that it was an “interpretation of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and revelry,” aimed at “highlighting the absurdity of human violence.”

Despite this explanation, García remained unconvinced and continued his boycott of the ceremony. He reiterated, “You cannot disrespect religion in front of millions of people. It is not right; nobody sees it. I will never watch the Olympics again.”

"I don't support LGBTQ+ or whatever they are, they can rot in hell. Let's boycott Paris 2024. It's disgusting. Let the transgenders rot in hell. My son will not be a homosexual in the name of God," he said on his account.

Garcia has been in the spotlight recently for many reasons. For example, when he used his X account to share his feelings about his recent arrest last month

This is his latest incident. García is alleged to have committed vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills. He was arrested and taken to jail. Garcia is a ticking time bomb. The pugilist has climbed the ranks from super featherweight to lightweight, putting on a show in the ring. Unfortunately, his gloved glory pales compared to his notoriety outside the ring.

The world was stunned when Ryan García lost his temper, causing approximately 15,000 euros in damage at a Beverly Hills hotel. Compounding his troubles, García tested positive for Ostarine, a banned substance used to build muscle and enhance performance, which he has consistently denied using.

Garcia's behavior has been equally shocking. He admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana continuously in the days leading up to his fight with lightweight world champion Devin Haney. At the weigh-in for the Haney fight, García even pretended to drink beer on the scales. The bout was not contested for the title because he failed to make weight, but the fighters agreed to proceed without the title on the line. García ultimately defeated Haney, celebrating with more alcohol and marijuana.

Garcia had pledged to pay €500,000 for each pound he exceeded the weight limit. He came in three pounds over, leaving uncertainty about whether Haney has received the promised one and a half million euros.
