Wearing a star-spangled T-shirt with "USA" above an image of Kelly Cheng, Snoop Dogg took to the stands in the Beach Volleyball arena dancing with fans as gold medal hopefuls Cheng and Hughes eventually overcame their French opponents. 

The world-famous rapper began the match sheltering from the sun under an umbrella and attempting to cool down with an electric pocket fan in the sweltering temperatures that have arrived on Day Five due to a Parisian heatwave. 

Snoop Dogg, who was a United States torch-bearer in the opening ceremony, is in Paris as a special Olympics Correspondent for the American television broadcasting company NBC Universal.

As part of his new role, he has been turning up to cheer on Team USA athletes at various events including the men's street skateboarding and the artistic gymnastics women's qualification.

A moment between Snoop Dogg and Simone Biles along with other Team USA gymnasts did the rounds on social media this week as the rapper danced from the stands much to the delight of both athletes and surrounding spectators.

Once again Snoop Dogg caught the appreciative eye of his country's athletes as Sara Hughes and Kelly Cheng waved to him in the crowds Wednesday.

Joining in with celebrations throughout and embracing the sport's popular "monster block" chant, the two then acknowledged him after clinching the win thumping their chests in his direction as he waved a large United States flag from the stands.

He later had some encouraging words in very Snoop Dogg fashion and told the pair to "do what y'all do and bring home the gold." 

Team USA's Sarah Hughes and Kelly Cheng now sit second in their group, currently on path to qualify for the knockout stages behind Germany's Svenja Mueller and Cinja Tillmann who they take on on Friday.
