Shooting has ended at Paris 2024 with the victory of China's Li Yuehong in the 25m Rapid Pistol. Italy won the Skeet mixed team event with Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti.

So far, Shooting is the sport in which China is winning the most gold medals. Today, the presence of this sport has been closed, and the Asian country has won one gold and two bronze medals. In total, five golds, two silvers and three bronzes.

Li Yuehong won gold in the 25 rapid fire pistol in a final where he performed much better than his rivals. There were six in the final and they were entitled to 20 shots. At that point, the last one to qualify was eliminated, and from then on, every five shots, one more was eliminated.

The first to be eliminated was the Italian Massimo Spinella, who was very far behind. The rest were neck and neck, with South Korea's Cho Yeongjae leading the competition. It was difficult to predict who would win the medals.

In the next five-shot shootout, it was Ukraine's Pavlo Korostylov who made the most mistakes, while Yeongjae was still first. Next to fall was Germany's Florian Peter. The medallists were already known, but in this leg the lead also changed and was taken by Yuehong.

The Chinese was the best in the next leg, which strengthened his lead, and the one who fell was his compatriot Wang Xinjie, who took the bronze medal. Yuehong had the gold almost in hand, and he sealed his victory by hitting the last five shots. Yeongjae fell apart and took the silver.

Skeet final

The mixed team Skeet was the last competition. In the morning, the medal qualifying round took place. Fifteen teams competed, with Italy and the USA having double representation.

Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti were the top qualifiers, missing one shot out of 150 for each pair. With 149 points, they equalled the world record for a finals qualifier. Americans Austen Smith and Vincent Hancock were one point behind. That was the match for gold. China and India tied on 146 points and qualified to fight for bronze.

The grand final had excitement right down to the last shot. Each participant has to shoot two targets in a row, twice. This is followed by the other member of the pair, and then the other team.

The American pair missed one shot in the first round of eight. Italy scored a full house in the first two rounds. There, they were one hit ahead. In the third, each team made a mistake, but in the fourth there was an American error and an Italian full house. Two ahead with only one round to go.

The United States shot first. Full house. Italy could only make one mistake to win and two to tie. Rossetti missed the first plate and hit the second. Maximum stress for him, but he hit his last two shots. The responsibility was in the hands of Bacosi. He broke all four targets and the gold went to Italy.

The most striking moment of the final for the beyonce came from Jiang Yiting, who missed three targets in a row in the second shot. Even so, the two teams were tied at that point.

In the third round, they missed once each. In the fourth, India missed a shot. And the final was a two-round shoot-out, with both pairs hitting a full house, leaving China to win the medal by one point. Yiting won bronze alongside Lyu Janlin, while India's Maheshwari Chauhan and Anant Naruka finished fourth.
