The inaugural ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympics is set to dazzle with its signature exuberance and theatrical flair. With over 2 million tickets sold, nearly half of them in the past month as the Olympic fervor kicked off, the event is generating immense anticipation.

The organising committee has promoted the ongoing excitement and competitive frenzy leading up to the Paralympics with the slogan, “The game is not over,” highlighting that there is still much to experience and admire at the Paris venues. With the Paralympics set to be the grand finale, no one wants to miss an event that continues to advance rapidly with each edition.

The Paris 2024 Olympics have already set a record with nearly 10 million tickets sold. This is a welcome change after the pandemic disruptions of 2020, which kept the arenas from being full since 2016. Now, spectators eagerly await the 'return leg’ of the Olympic frenzy. On August 28, a spectacular show choreographed by Alexander Ekman in the heart of Paris will prepare the stage for an unforgettable experience, promising to be a cherished memory for all attendees.

The final million tickets were sold at an astonishing pace over the last month. Those who missed out earlier will now have a chance to feel in their skin the unique atmosphere of the Games. Attendees will have to wait four years, with Los Angeles as the next venue, to feel this level of grandeur again.

For many ticket buyers, Paris will be a new experience, with over half (52%) attending the Paralympics for the first time. Meanwhile, the remaining 48% are seasoned Paralympic enthusiasts, having already tasted the Olympic spirit from previous Games.

Interest in the Paris 2024 Paralympics is booming, with about twenty sports having sold at least 75% of their tickets, and eleven of these, including blind football, wheelchair fencing, and paralympic track cycling, nearing sell-out with over 90% sold.

Local French and Parisian spectators have snapped up more than 90% of available tickets, ensuring a massive turnout for nearly two weeks of intense competition. Internationally, 8% of tickets have been purchased, with the UK leading (28%), followed by Germany (14%), and notably, over 10% of tickets going to American fans eager to support their teams. Paris 2024 encourages the public to regularly check their ticketing platform, as new tickets will be released up until September 8.

Additionally, for the first time, the Paralympics will feature a hospitality programme to enhance the spectator experience. From August 28, ‘On Location’, the official hospitality provider for Paris 2024, will offer an exclusive experience in the Tuileries Garden, including an exhibition titled “When Arts Meet Athletes,” showcasing paralympic athletes alongside masterpieces from the Louvre. Hospitality packages, available for eight paralympic sports and the ceremonies, include options such as the "Lounge" and "Fan Kit," providing privileged access and a full immersion in the event.
