Following the successful run of the offer during the Olympics, Aldi, the official supermarket sponsor of ParalympicsGB and Team GB, is once again rallying the nation to support the Paralympic athletes. Any unlucky shopper who misses a ParalympicsGB gold medal win while checking out at Aldi can receive £100 (€118.73 or $131.30) in Aldi vouchers.

Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, expressed his excitement for the Games, stating, “The Paralympic Games have finally arrived and now it is time to see ParalympicsGB go for gold. 

“Just like we did for the Olympics, we’ll be reimbursing shoppers who miss ParalympicsGB win gold as a small consolation for not being able to celebrate in the moment."

Thornton also noted the enthusiasm during the Olympics, adding, “Shoppers jumped at the chance to get their money back last time around and with over 200 more medal events at the Paralympics than the Olympics, even more people have the chance to win– perhaps putting the money towards a watch party for the next event so they can cheer on ParalympicsGB!”

To participate, shoppers who miss a gold-winning moment need to send a photo of their receipt to [email protected]. The first 10 entries with a timestamp matching the exact minute of a ParalympicsGB gold medal win, as per the BBC Live Blog, will be rewarded with £100 in Aldi shopping vouchers.

As the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket, Aldi is also helping customers celebrate the games by offering a wide selection of Specialbuys. These include a variety of BBQ essentials and award-winning wines and spirits, perfect for hosting a Paralympics viewing party. In addition, Aldi store colleagues are showing their support by donning ParalympicsGB t-shirts during the games.
