It was a Super Sunday for Team GB, who won a national record of 12 gold medals in a single day. The Refugee Paralympic Team earned another historic first — this time for the men.

Great Britain makes waves at the pool

Paris La Defense Arena saw plenty of action with Great Britain dominating the women’s field. Brock Whiston won gold in the 200m individual medley SM8, followed by Alice Tai in bronze. Just like in Rio 2016, Tai earned a double, this time for gold in the women’s 100m backstroke S8. Israel’s Ami Dadaon also earned his second medal of the Games with a silver in the men’s 150m individual medley SM4.

De La Forest finally grabs the elusive gold

Frenchman Tanguy De La Forest has been vying for the gold since his debut in Athens 2004. 20 years later, he would finally achieve his dream to a cheering crowd on home turf, winning the  R5 - mixed 10m air rifle prone SH2 event in Chateauroux.

"It is another beautiful day. A gold medal after a silver medal in the Paralympic Games in Paris. It is just amazing. It is better than a dream. It is just perfect,” said the 46-year-old three-time world champion."Family, friends, all the French people here helped me to win. It was just amazing."

Refugee Team makes history on the tracks

Cameroonian Guillaume Junior Atangana (guided by Donard Ndim Nyamjua) became the first male refugee athlete to win a medal at an Olympic or Paralympic Games. Atangana won the bronze in the men's 400m T11 to cheering fans at the Stade de France.

"I'm very happy to have this medal," Atangana said. "This medal shows that the Paralympic movement for refugees galvanizes people. It's a great honour for me. I've written my moment in history."

"Armless Archer" stuns with a perfect win

Team USA’s Matt Stutzman closes out a spectacular career on top of his game— winning the para-archery gold by consistently scoring perfect 30 ends, shooting a bullseye, and setting a new Paralympic record of 149 (out of a possible 150) in the elimination rounds.

"My first match was against an armless archer who I was mentoring, and this is the first time in the Paralympics that two armless archers shot against each other," commented Stuzman. "That was amazing and history."
