Top-ranked boxers make history by signing up for APB programme

AIBA first_boxers_June_10June 10 - International Boxing Association (AIBA) President CK Wu has announced the first three boxers to sign up for the AIBA Professional Boxing (APB) programme with reigning amateur super heavyweight champion Magomedrasul Medzhidov of Azerbaijan revealed as the headline name.

Peter Waterfield_Tom_Daly_June_10June 9 - Tom Daley, who set a British record in the 10 metre platform synchro with his partner Peter Waterfield at the GB trials in Sheffield, described the result as "perfect timing" and said he and Waterfield were now "heading in the right direction" after their relatively disappointing showing of seventh place in the Olympic test event in February.



Ainslie hits the water and misses gold at pre-Games regatta

Ben Ainslie_Melbourne_June_10June 9 - Britain's three-times Olympic sailing champion Ben Ainslie demonstrated that even the greatest of performers can sometimes get it wrong when he capsized on the final day of the last pre-Games regatta, thus losing his chance of winning in the Finn class at the Skandia Sail for Gold event at the Olympic course in Weymouth and Portland.
