Singh calls Indian badminton re-election victory for Olympic Movement

June 13 - Randhir Singh, the secretary general of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), has hailed the unanimous re-election of V.K Verma as President of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) "as a victory for the Olympic Movement" after the country's former cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin (pictured) dropped plans to stand.









Badminton officials to visit London to discuss Wembley row

January 18 - Thomas Lund (pictured), the chief operating officer of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), today revealed that he is due to fly to London later this month to try to sort out the venue for his sport at the 2012 Olympics as they continue to resist attempts to make them move to Wembley Arena.





Saina signs with Olympic Gold Quest

December 12 - Saina Nehwal (pictured), India's top badminton player and one of the nation's brightest hopes for an Olympic medal, has signed a three-year contract with Olympic Gold Quest, a not for profit sports foundation until the 2012 London Olympics.
