The Mexican city of San Luis Potosí will host one of the largest traditional mass taekwondo events - the CAR La Loma training camp - from 24-31 March.

Two time Olympic champion Lukas Krpalek started the preparation for the Olympic year in Mittersill at the huge training camp that is held every year.

Indonesian weightlifting legend Raema Lisa Rumbewas died at the Jayapura District Hospital on 14 January at the age of 43, according to the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI).

The Ministry of Youth Sports and the NOC of Ukraine called on World Taekwondo (WT) to immediately review the decision and follow the example of the International Curling Federation (World Curling Federation) and other sports federations in suspending Russian and Belarusian athletes from all international competitions.

The President of the International Judo Federation, Marius Vizer, was in Mittersill (Austria) for the big training camp, where he also spoke about the Olympic year. He hopes that Paris 2024 will take place in a peaceful atmosphere and wishes the European athletes the best of luck.

The FIAS International Coaching Seminar will be held in the Netherlands on the 3rd of March. The event will take place in Dalfsen the day after the international SAMBO tournament DSI Dutch Open.

At the end of 2023, the Ministry of Youth and Sport organised a gala ceremony on 26 December to celebrate the remarkable achievements in sport during 2023. The event concluded with the awarding of prizes to winners in various categories.

At the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC 2) on 19 January, Jordan's Yara Kakish takes on American Emily Ferreira in an explosive jiu-jitsu battle on the preliminary card. 

GAMMA has announced that the 2024 European Championships will be held in Slovakia from 12-20 May, following the signing of a hosting agreement on 9 January. For the first time at a continental championship, a U18 event will be added to the senior programme.

The Balkan Open Sambo Championship was held in Amintayo, Greece, on the 22nd and 23rd of December. The tournament was attended by about 100 cadets and young men from 7 countries: Greece, Moldova, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Serbia and Ukraine.
