Australia took 8 gold medals in Pacific games’ Taekwondo tournament and dominated in Oceania Championships

As expected, Australian taekwondo fighters took half of 16 gold medals in the Taekwondo tournament of the Pacific Games in Solomon Islands. In women’s competition Juliet Lahood (49 kg), Stacey Hymer (57 kg), Rebecca Murray (67 kg) and Reba Stewart (+73) didn’t give any chance to their opponents. In men’s competition Benjamin Camua (59 kg), Matthew Summerfield (68 kg), Liam Sweeney (80 kg) and Tyrone Staben (87 kg) won the champions’ titles.

One of the main questions of day two of Tokyo Grand Slam 2023 was if Hifumi and Uta Abes could win their next tournament. Since 2018 they have won together the 2020 Olympic Games, 2018, 2022 and 2023 World Championships, various Grand Slam titles. And the answer to the question was quite predictable - yes.

Germany wins the team title of 2023 European Ju-Jitsu Championship

From November 23-26 the European Ju-Jitsu Championship was held in Croatia’s capital Zagreb. The European strongest competitors fought for 32 gold medals. Germany was the strongest team after the end of the championship with 6 gold medals. France was the leader in overall medals - 18, but they managed to claim only 3 gold medals. Israel and Slovenia won 4 gold medals, Sweden and Netherlands 3.


FIAS announce 2024 calendar

FIAS announce 2024 calendar

The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) announced their official calendar for 2024. Kazakhstan will become one of the Sambo centres in 2024. Their capital Astana will host the World championship from November 8-10, and Aktau will host Asia and Oceania Sambo Youth and master championships. The European Sambo championships will be held in Serbia’s Novi Sad from May 9-10, a day later the EuropeanYouth and Junior Sambo championship will start.
