Croatia has won its third Olympic quota in taekwondo. On the final day of the European Qualification Tournament, 2023 World Champion in men’s 74 kg category  Marco Golubic defeated Sweden's Ali Alian to reach the final and secure his place at Paris 2024 in the men's -68 kg category. Golubic joins Lena Stojkovic (women's -49k g) and Ivan Sapina (men's +80 kg) who qualified through the rankings.

The Uzbekistan Sambo Championship was held in Tashkent on 27-29 February, with more than 400 athletes from different regions taking part in the tournament, which was held at the Zhar Sports Complex. Medals were awarded in the men's and women's Sport SAMBO and men's Combat SAMBO competitions.

Tokyo 2020 champion Maksim Khramtsov (AIN), runner-up Tatiana Minina (Individual Neutral Athlete), bronze medallist Avishag Semberg (Israel) and Rio 2016 bronze medallist Kimia Alizadeh (Refugee Team) didn't qualify for Paris 2024 directly through the rankings. 

Eleven African teams have arrived and registered in Accra, Ghana to represent their countries competing in mixed martial arts (MMA) at the African Games. The sport will be included in the programme for the first time from Sunday 10 to Monday 12 March.

The French Olympic Committee said in February that it would provide hotel rooms for breastfeeding French athletes during the Paris Olympics because children will be banned from the athletes' village, reports AFP.

The European Para-Taekwondo Qualification Tournament for the Paris 2024 Paralympics took place on 8th February in Sofia, Bulgaria. Winners in 10 weight categories qualified for Paris 2024.

The Dutch Open Sambo Championship was held on 2 March in the city of Dalfsen. More than 275 athletes from different countries took part in the competition. Medals were awarded in competitions for both very young participants, who are just starting out in SAMBO, and adult sambists.

The decision by United World Wrestling to lift the ban on the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has raised more questions in India. Now the Delhi High Court, has stepped in and said that the ad hoc committee will select the teams for the Asian Wrestling Championships and the World Olympic Qualifiers.

European taekwondo athletes will have one last chance to earn a quota for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in eight weight categories at the European Qualification Tournament in Sofia on 9 and 10 March.

In the latest move to consolidate the UAE's and Abu Dhabi's leadership on the continental and global jiu-jitsu map, Abu Dhabi will host the eighth edition of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championships at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City from 1-8 May, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced.

MMA competition will be taking place alongside Olympic sports in the African Games 2023 for the very first time in Accra, Ghana from 10-12 March.  

The 13th edition of the four-year, multi-sport event runs from 8-23 March, organised by the African Union (AU), the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), the Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC) and the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa (SCSA).  

International taekwondo events are set to return to Brisbane in 2024, with the World Taekwondo President's Cup (Oceania) and the Australian Open confirmed for 18-22 September at the Nissan Arena.

At the end of the third day of the 2024 Judo Tashkent Grand Slam, France topped the medals table with three gold, two silver and one bronze, ahead of Japan (two gold, three silver, six bronze) and hosts Uzbekistan (2,1,3). 23 countries won medals and 36 nations were represented. 

Alasan Ann is set to become the first Gambian taekwondo athlete to compete at the Olympic Games. Ann reached the final of the African Qualifying Tournament in February to earn his place at the Paris 2024 Taekwondo Tournament.
