Russia is a key market given that they will host a major international event every year until 2019, including the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Sochi in 2014 (pictured above), and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

This year's event takes place during the London 2012 Olympics at Russia House in Kensington Gardens.

It is being put on by Eventica and Sportslab Marketing, and will give delegates the chance to learn about the latest changes in the Russian sports industry.

There will also be the opportunity to meet key figures in Russian sport, as well as bring together the major interest groups, such as games organisers, ministries, corporate sponsors, contractors, suppliers and others.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, the President of Sochi 2014, and Kazan 2013 Universiade President Vladimir Leonov are among the speakers expected at the GSIC.
