Sochi.Park 18_JulyJuly 19 - Sochi 2014 President and chief executive Dmitry Chernyshenko has promised "a winter wonderland in the middle of a London summer" at Sochi.Park during the 2012 Olympic Games.

Sochi will become the focus of the Olympic world's attention when London 2012 comes to an end, as the hosts of the Winter Games in 2014.

Russia.Park and Sochi.Park (pictured top) will both be situated in Kensington Gardens in London, forming the official residence for the Russian Olympic Committee this summer.

A range of activities are lined up for visitors to the park, with an ice rink and a 4D simulation car experience on show.

Speaking to insidethegames, Chernyshenko said: "We are delighted to be bringing Sochi to Kensington Gardens in London and offering the world an important opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, tastes and people of Russia.

"We want to convey a flavour of what can be expected at the next Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

"Sochi.Park will be a winter wonderland in the middle of a London summer, taking guests through Russia to Sochi, via high-tech interactive experiences including a 4D chairlift ride up the Krasnodar mountains."

Those are the mountains in which alpine ski events will take place during Sochi 2014.

Chernyshenko added that visitors to London this summer should go to Sochi.Park for "a wonderful day out while learning about Russian culture".
