The first round of the Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship kicked off with fervour at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City on Friday. The competitions attracted top athletes from leading local clubs and academies, leading to intense competitions that lived up to the event’s hype as an exciting addition to the local sporting calendar.

The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced that the first round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship will be held at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City from June 28 - 30.

UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team delivered an impressive performance at the Grand Prix Thailand Open 2024 over the weekend, securing 15 medals, including five gold, three silver, and seven bronze. The event, held in Bangkok, is considered an ideal preparation for the team ahead of major international events, particularly the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Greece in November.

Tailored to enrich the skills of referees, support staff, and officials, these seminars provided participants with insights into the latest rules and practices.

The eighth Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship is in full swing, and amidst the fervour of competition, there is one area that has captured significant attention—the Fitness District. Situated just outside Mubadala Arena, the venue for the event, this fitness-themed tent has emerged as the go-to destination for fans, families, and athletes alike.

The Jiu-Jitsu Asian Youth Championship kicked off with great fervour at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, setting the stage for intense competitions among young athletes. As day one wrapped up, the UAE amassed nine medals. 

Thailand successfully defended its crown at the eighth Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship, held at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, accumulating an impressive total of 11 gold medals. As the adult division competitions concluded on Sunday, the UAE continued their dominance in the Jiu-Jitsu discipline and secured the title for the fourth consecutive year.

The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team delivered outstanding performances on the opening day of the eighth Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship at the Mubadala Arena, Zayed Sports City. As competitions for adults in various weight divisions unfolded on Friday, the host nation secured an impressive haul of seven medals, comprising three gold, two silver, and two bronze, securing the top spot on the medal table in the newaza discipline.

Abdulmunem Alsayedohamed was re-elected President of the Asian Ju-Jitsu Union (JJAU) for another term, by acclamation, during the annual General Assembly meeting held today in Abu Dhabi alongside the ongoing eighth Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

The Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union convened on Friday to strategise and outline plans for the sport’s development in the future, with a primary focus on fostering growth and expanding its reach.

The international delegations for the eighth Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championships, comprising athletes, coaches, and officials, have started arriving in Abu Dhabi as the competitions gear up to kick off on Friday. The championships, held under the patronage of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, will bring together over 1,500 male and female competitors from more than 30 countries at the Mubadala Arena from May 3-8.
