August 28 - Britain's Jonathan Brownlee lost the European-under 23 title by a single second tonight as he was beaten into silver medal position in a sprint finish at the 2010 Vila Nova de Gaia ETU Triathlon in Portugal.

August 27 - Triple Olympic and world champion Usain Bolt reveals in a book to be launched next week that he is naturally lazy, often misses training, blew his first chance at an Olympics because he "couldn't be bothered" and that some Jamaicans accused him of accepting money to throw a race at the World Championships.

August 27 - Top diplomat Michèle Ramis has been appointed to a key role with the international relations team campaigning for Annecy to be awarded the 2018 Olympics and Paralympics as the French city steps up its efforts to make up lost ground on rivals Munich and Pyeongchang. 


Gay has another good night in Brussels

August 27 - Tyson Gay confirmed his status as the leading male sprinter this year by winning his third consecutive Samsung Diamond League 100 metres in Brussels tonight, producing a time of 9.79sec that was just one-hundredth shy of his 2010 world leading time set in equally chilly and damp conditions at Crystal Palace earlier this month.


Pistorius to star in BT ident on Channel 4
