British team leader delighted with Singapore performance

August 27 - Team GB Chef de Mission Jan Paterson today expressed her delight with Britain’s performance at the inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games here as the 39 athletes picked up an impressive haul of 13 medals, five of which are gold, including one for taekwondo player Jade Jones (pictured).



Keen optimistic for London 2012 chances after record-breaking year

August 27 - Britain is on track to achieve its goal of finishing among the top two nations at the London 2012 Paralympics with it already well on way to achieving the medal target it was set for this year by UK Sport, thanks to the likes of cyclist Sarah Storey and swimmer Ellie Simmonds (pictured).









Asian Games venues will be ready by September

August 26 - The 16th Asian Games, which take place in Guangzhou this November, are set to be the biggest in the competition’s history while all of the venues for the event in China are expected to be fully ready by September, officials claimed here.

August 26 - Indian officials organising the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi are set to face a multi-million dollar legal battle after Mike Bushell, the managing director of Sports Marketing and Management (SMAM), the Australian company fired for alleged "non-performance", warned that he would be seeking up to $12 million (£7.7 million) in compensation.
