July 13 - The Tour de France today helped showcase Annecy's bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics as today's ninth stage of the race started in Morzine, which would be the venue for the women's downhill should they be chosen.

July 13 - Britain’s men’s basketball team have suffered a huge setback ahead of their EuroBasket qualifying campaign this summer with the news that NBA and Detroit Pistons star Ben Gordon (pictured) will not be able to join up with the team due to a slow recovery from a minor operation to his ankle.

July 12 - Britain enjoyed a hugely successful day at the World Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Birmingham after the men’s side topped their pool with a stunning 78-66 win over the United States while the women’s team defeated Mexico 57-50 to advance to the quarter-finals at the National Indoor Arena (NIA).
