Sochi 2014 plant trees to mark UNEP campaign

June 5 - Dmitry Chernyshenko (pictured), the chief executive of Sochi 2014, and Anatoly Pakhomov, the city's Mayor, today planted trees here to mark World Environment Day and later signed a partnership agreement on environmental protection and volunteering programmes.

June 4 - Construction on the Athletes' Village for London 2012 is still on target, with three-quarters of the work on the residential units already completed, Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) chief executive David Higgins claimed today.
