May 28 - Ukraine, whose slow preparations for football's 2012 European Championships have been heavily criticised, are planning to bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics, the country's President Viktor Yanukovych announced today.

May 28 - The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) is to cut its budget by $20 million (£14 million) through a combination of cuts and savings from a favourable exchange rate, the President Lamine Diack (pictured) announced today.


London 2012 to use same athletics track as Beijing

May 28 - London 2012 have signed a deal with Italian company Mondo to supply the athletics track for the Olympic Stadium along with flooring for up to 10 other sports, including basketball, table tennis, wheelchair basketball and goalball.

May 28 - The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has complained to the Indian Government after they blamed Randhir Singh (pictured) for misleading the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the row over how long officials should be allowed to serve in their posts and which is threatening India's participation at London 2012.
