Basketball icons set to be inducted into FIBA Hall of Fame

51940398May 27 - The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) have announced the 12 icons of the sport that will be inducted into their Hall of Fame, including legendary Australian player and Sydney 2000 flagbearer Andrew Gaze (pictured), and the late former Canada coach John "Jack" Donohue.











Gibraltar becomes UEFA member despite Spanish objections

GIBR0001May 24 - Gibraltar, which has an area of only 2.6 square miles, has become the 54th member of UEFA today, despite previous threats from European and world champions Spain that they would withdraw their teams from the organisation's competitions should the British colony be admitted.

Japanese judo rocked again by sexual harrassment scandal

149487805May 24 - The All Japan Judo Federation (AJJF) is facing another scandal with director Jiro Fukuda admitting to sexually harassing an unnamed female judoka, just months after its funding was cut by the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) when coaches were found to be physically abusing female judokas.
