Table tennis gives thumbs up to Rio 2016

RioTableTennisApril 11 - The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) have hailed Rio 2016 staff and declared themselves as "very happy" with the location of the table tennis venue at Riocentro, which is within walking distance of the Olympic Village.

Prof Bruno Grandi and Ph D Ryosho TanigamaApril 11 - Bruno Grandi, President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), has been awarded the title of Dr Honoris Causa, Japan's highest honour, by the Nippon Sport Science University (NSSU) in Tokyo in recognition of his career of more than 50 years in international sport.

Libya plans to build new stadiums for 2017 Africa Cup of Nations

164607208April 10 - Libya is planning to build a new 60,000-seater stadium in capital city Tripoli in time to host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, Sports Minister Abdussalam Guaila has announced, with another smaller 23,000-capacity stadium to be located in Misrata also in the pipeline.
