Adlington's mother blames BBC for Boyle scandal

November 4 - Rebecca Adlington's mother Kay (pictured) has blamed the BBC for putting her daughter in the spotlight after they made public that they had taken no action against comedian Frankie Boyle after he had made "humiliating" comments about the double Olympic gold medallist.

Wellington voted Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year

November 3 - Chrissie Wellington (pictured), the current world record-holder and Ironman Triathlon champion, was announced today as the Sportswoman of the Year for 2009 at the 22nd Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards ceremony held in association with Brittany Ferries at the David Beckham Academy in South-East London.

November 2 - Sir Steve Redgrave, arguably Britain’s most celebrated Olympian, has advised his former Great Britain colleague Katherine Grainger to end her experiment in the single sculls if she wants to further her Olympic ambitions for London 2012 – even though she won a world silver medal at the event in this year's World Championships.
