9/6: More New Mascot Pins

London 2012 have announced some more mascot pins for immediate sale. These pins show Wenlock trying four new sports, both mascots carrying the flag and 4 pins combining a london bus with mascots, flags and logos.

2/6: I Love London 2012 Pins

More new pins coming soon. This time the simple message "I 'Heart' London 2012" in both Union Flag and Paralympic Logos.

Pins are limited to 10,000 pieces each. No news of prices yet.

2/6: Wenlock Sports Pins - Water Sports and Aquatics

Wenlock appears in his first sporting pins this week. 6 pins are being released around the theme of water sports and aquatics.

The pins cover the sports of rowing, sailing, canoe slalom (pictured), swimming, synchronised swimming and diving.

1/6: Countdown Pins - 400 Days to Go

Two new pins have been announced to mark the 400 days to go milestone which occurs on June 23rd.

These pins follow the style of the 500 days to go pins and are available in 'standard' or 'mascot' version

24/5: Seaside Pins

The series of pins depicting British Life continue this week with 8 pins on the subject of 'The Seaside'.

The pins are pictured below and show some typical seaside subjects such as ice cream and sandcastles.

24/5: Mascot Guards - Printed Pins

Wenlock and Mandeville are appearing again in the guards uniforms, this time on printed pins.

The pins will be available separately, priced at £4 each, or as a pair on a 'twin-pack' card.

23/5: More ODA 'Great Team Effort' Pins

Two more of the ODA team effort pins have been spotted today.

These pins each come in Logo and Paralympic Logo versions like previous pins and each pin shares the same number between the 2 logo versions.

22/5: London 2012 Pins from USA and Pin Licensing

Late on Friday a few readers started receiving mailings about 24 commemorative (i.e. retail) pins available in the US. Just to be clear, these are official pins made under licence, but they are not part of the 2,012 pins being made by Honav UK, they are manufactured under a different LOCOG licence.

When the Cadbury Spots and Stripes pins came out numbered CAD0003 and 4, it was obvious that CAD0002 was 'missing'. Jerry from Cadbury Spots & Stripes kindly posted on the blog comments that the pin was being issued internally following a colleague design competition.

12/5: ODA Learning Legacy Pins

Two more ODA pins have been spotted today.

As more and more of the Olympic Park is completed, we are seeing more of the ODA Olympic Park Pins.

6/5: Mascot Birthday Pins

Wenlock and Mandeville will be 1 year old soon and to celebrate, London 2012 have released 3 new pins.

A few days ago an eBay seller put 3 BP pins up for sale. These pins had the same shape and look as the Open Weekend ones from last year and the more recent green/paralympic pins that have been seen.

27/4: New Mascot Pins

It seems as we get nearer to Wenlock and Mandeville's first birthday next month, they are appearing on more pins. Following on from last week's 'name' pins featuring the mascots, 4 more new sets of pins have been announced.

When British skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean won the Olympic gold medal in ice dance at Sarajevo 1984 with 12 perfect 6.0s from every judge, for their interpretation of Maurice Ravel's Boléro, an important member of their team was singer-actor Michael Crawford. Crawford, who had played Frank Spencer in British sitcom Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em and the title role in the musical The Phantom of the Opera, had become a mentor to the pair in 1981 and went on to help them create their Olympic routine. Crawford said he “taught them how to act". He was present with their trainer Betty Callaway at the ringside at Sarajevo as they created one of the most iconic moments in Olympic history.
