IAAF to make $20 million savings

May 28 - The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) is to cut its budget by $20 million (£14 million) through a combination of cuts and savings from a favourable exchange rate, the President Lamine Diack (pictured) announced today.

Seventh heaven for Kruse after silver medal

May 25 - The outstanding form of Britain's Richard Kruse (pictured) has continued with him winning a silver medal in the foil event at the Grand Prix event in St Petersburg, helping lift him to seventh in the world rankings after he defeated world champion Andrea Baldini.



Princess Haya to face European challenge for FEI President

May 23 - Princess Haya's postion as President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) is to be challenged later this year by Sweden's Sven Holmberg and Holland's Henk Rottinghuis, a sign of the lack of confidence among leading European nations in her leadership.





Boxing training centre set-up in Rio for 2016 Olympics

May 21 - The International Boxing Association (AIBA) have become the first world governing body to set up training facilities for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after its President C.K. Wu signed a landmark agreement with Carlos Nuzman, President of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) and Mauro da Silva, President of the Brazilian Confederation of Boxing (CBBoxe).
