The UEFA Executive Committee met in Paris on Wednesday and approved UEFA's strategy for the next six years. "United for Success" is based on seven values. The detailed revenue-sharing system for UEFA's men's club competitions from 2024-27 was also approved.

Host nation Germany will be based in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, for the duration of the tournament. The tournament will run from 14 June to 14 July, with sustainability a priority. Group stage matches will be played in only two venues and all travel will be by bus or train.

Zvonimir Boban, once one of Croatia's finest footballers and a former AC Milan player, has resigned as UEFA's Director of Football in opposition to Aleksander Ceferin's possible re-election as UEFA President until 2031. UEFA announced Boban's decision to step down in a mutually agreed statement.

The world's top football league, the Premier League, has rules in place to ensure the sustainability of the competition. These rules have both advantages and disadvantages, depending on the perspective, and have attracted considerable criticism.

Having been selected by FIFA, the Spain-Morocco-Portugal joint bid will now have to meet the requirements. World football's governing body will begin overseeing all aspects of  the proposal in the three countries from 2024. At the end of the year, FIFA will issue a binding suitability report and set out a roadmap.

Proponents of a European competition outside UEFA could face financial and sporting sanctions, including a ban from traditional tournaments. The redistribution of revenue and the curbing of an alleged monopoly by the governing body are the driving forces behind the initiative, which goes before judges at the European Court of Justice on Thursday. 

Greek football will be played behind closed doors until 12 February. The announcement from the Hellenic government came a day before the Turkish Football League was suspended. Turkish matches will remain suspended until further notice due to the assault on a referee by several men, including the president of the Ankaragücü club.

A quartet of Iberian past winners will contest the UEFA Futsal Champions League finals in May after Barcelona, Benfica, holders Mallorca Palma Futsal and Sporting CP topped their elite round groups.

The knockout finals will be held on 2/3 and 4/5 May, with the hosts and draw date to be confirmed. Never before have the four-team finals been made up entirely of past winners, although in the one-off eight-club event of 2021, all the teams in the semis had previously lifted the trophy.
