The General Assembly of the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC)has unanimously nominated President Capralos to renew his mandate with the European Olympic Committees (EOC). The Greek will seek re-election at the Elective General Assembly to be held in Frankfurt from 28 February to 1 March 2025.

The European Olympic Committee (EOC) held its highest deliberative body in Bucharest, where it confirmed Istanbul as the host city of the 2027 European Games, launched the consideration of sites for 2031 and confirmed Brasov as the host of the Winter EYOF and Lignano Sabbiadoro as the host of the Summer EYOF in 2027.

The Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) met for the third time. The meeting took place in the Romanian capital ahead of the organisation's 53rd General Assembly, which will be held on 6-7 June. Among other important issues, the meeting focused on Istanbul's 2027 bid.

The new leader is already in office. He was selected from a pool of 1,840 candidates. The new roadmap of the Strategic Agenda 2030 requires a strengthening of the work. As a professional, he brings with him experience from sports marketing agencies and the German Football League.

Togay Bayatli died on 2 April 2024 at the age of 85. He was awarded the OC Merit Award, the Gold Medal of the French Ministry of Sport, the FIFA Centennial Medal of Honour and the Burhan Felek Press Service Award.

Europe started hosting the continental games later than Asia, America and Africa. In 2012, the Association of European Olympic Committees decided that a separate competition should be held for European athletes and did its first edition in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The fourth edition of the European Games will be held in Istanbul, in 2027. This was the unanimous decision of the Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) at its meeting on 20th March.

The European Olympic Committees (EOC) will strengthen their commitment to safe sport and gender equality at a three-day conference bringing together 24 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in Brussels between on 6-8 March.

The Executive Committee (ExCo) of the European Olympic Committee (EOC) met for the first time in Madrid on 6 February. The meeting was hosted by the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE). 

It will start in January and run for 15 months. To date, more than 400 sports organisations in Europe have benefited from SIGGS 3.0 to improve their integrity, autonomy, and governance. The first meeting be held place on 25 and 26 January.

The President of the European Olympic Committee (also serving as the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee) was honoured with the Honorary Gratia Medal by the City of Krakow for his contribution to the promotion and development of the city through the organization of the European Games held in the Polish city last summer.

Alistair Brownlee is one of the greatest triathletes in history, with two gold medals in the Summer Olympics, London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016. He also won two golds at the Triathlon World Championships in 2009 and 2011, along with five medals in European competitions. Additionally, he secured two silver medals in the Ironman distance in 2018 and 2019.

World Karate Federation (WKF) President Antonio Espinós is confident that the sport will feature at the 2027 European Games following positive talks at the European Olympic Committees (EOC) General Assembly.

The European Games was a heavy focus of the second day of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) General Assembly here, where it was reported Kraków-Małopolska 2023 was the most "cost-efficient" of the three editions to date.
