Amusan cleared to compete in Olympics, CAS rejects doping charges

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed the appeals filed by World Athletics and the World Anti-Doping Agency against the decision of the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal (WADT) of 17 August 2023 regarding Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan, who was found not to have committed an anti-doping violation and will be able to participate in the Paris Olympic Games.

Refugee Olympian Lohalith suspended for suspected doping

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) said Tuesday that Olympic refugee team runner Anjelina Nadai Lohalith has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for Trimetazidine, Agence France-Presse reports. The banned substance, usually used to prevent and treat the symptoms of angina, is the same that put 23 Chinese swimmers in the spotlight recently.

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced on Tuesday that it has lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in the case of Norah Jeruto, the former world hurdles champion who was acquitted last month. She is the fourth athlete currently in the appeals process.
