The Development of Azerbaijan's National Sports Systems (DNSS) project continues to make significant progress with the continued support of the International Olympic Committee's Olympic Solidarity and the International Canoe Federation. A renowned expert from the UK, Alexander Nikonorov, visited the country.

Prague hosted the first Digital Communications Seminar of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), demonstrating its ongoing commitment to providing diverse and valuable services to National Olympic Committees (NOCs). Azerbaijan's NOC participated in this seminar, marking their involvement in ANOC's digital initiatives.

"It was a lifelong dream," said the gymnast after reaching a historic milestone for Azerbaijan that she hopes can be repeated in the future. Mahsudova will compete at the European Championships for the first time with a chance of winning a medal.

The best result for the national team was achieved by Nikita Simonov, who finished sixth on rings at the competition held from 15-18 February. The city of Cottbus in Germany will host the next major World Cup event from 22-25 February.

The prestigious IJF Academy Judo Coaching Certification Programme concluded today with a remarkable awards ceremony, recognising the dedication and achievements of the participants of the the Level 1 Judo Coaches Technical Courses.

Last Tuesday, the second edition of the festival, which aims to promote the Olympic movement, opened at the Azerbaijan State Song Theatre named after Rashid Behbudov. In addition to films, a video clip of the NOC anthem was shown. 

Hammer thrower Hanna Skydan is one of Azerbaijan's best track and field options at Paris 2024, as is Cuban-born triple jumper Alexis Copello, a two-time European champion and eighth at London 2012 (still competing for Cube).

The ceremony was held on 26 December in Buta Palas. It began with the national anthem of the Republic and highlighted the achievements of the athletes, including the nine Olympic licences obtained.

Azerbaijan's women's basketball team has qualified for the 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Paris 2024 to be held in Hong Kong from 17 April 2024.

The National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan held its "Olympic Night" dedicated to the sports results of the year.  Prominent state and government officials, leaders of sports organizations, federations, media, Olympic champions, and representatives of the sports community attended the event in the capital, Baku.

On the initiative of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and under the joint partnership of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the European Olympic Committees (EOC), the 3rd Regional Workshop on Digital Communication and Social Media was held in Lausanne on 14 December.

On 27 November 2001, the first issue of the 'Olympic World' newspaper was published as the designated press outlet of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee. Since its inception, 'Olympic World' has focused on the promotion of national sports, the Olympic Movement, and the ideals inherent in the Olympic ethos.

As part of his trip to Bangladesh, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov has met with his Bangladeshi counterpart Zahid Ahsan Russel.

On 7 November, a round table meeting was held at the editorial office of the newspaper 'Olympic World', to which employees of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) were invited. 

Sports officials in Azerbaijan are hoping that their team for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be the biggest in the nation's history and emulate pre-pandemic levels of performance.
