Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz meet again in Wimbledon final blockbuster

Novak Djokovic swept past Lorenzo Musetti on Friday to book a second successive Wimbledon final against defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and move one win away from a record-setting 25th Grand Slam title. Just five weeks after undergoing knee surgery, seven-time Wimbledon champion Djokovic reached his 10th final at the All England Club with a 6-4, 7-6 (7/2), 6-4 win over the Italian 25th seed.

Barbora Krejcikova reaches Wimbledon final with epic comeback

Surprise at Wimbledon: World number 32 Barbora Krejcikova secured the ticket to Saturday’s final yesterday after staging an epic comeback (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) against former champion and world number four Elena Rybakina. The Czech player will now face seventh seed Jasmine Paolini in the decisive duel.

When British skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean won the Olympic gold medal in ice dance at Sarajevo 1984 with 12 perfect 6.0s from every judge, for their interpretation of Maurice Ravel's Boléro, an important member of their team was singer-actor Michael Crawford. Crawford, who had played Frank Spencer in British sitcom Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em and the title role in the musical The Phantom of the Opera, had become a mentor to the pair in 1981 and went on to help them create their Olympic routine. Crawford said he “taught them how to act". He was present with their trainer Betty Callaway at the ringside at Sarajevo as they created one of the most iconic moments in Olympic history.
