A rail and airport strike will leave only one in five commuter trains running on some Paris lines and cause major disruption at France's two main airport hubs in a day of mobilisation organised on the eve of negotiations over bonuses during the Olympic Games.

The athletics track at the Stade de France is now ready for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held from 26 July to 11 August. Uniquely, the track is purple rather than the traditional red. It was officially unveiled by American Carl Lewis, who won nine golds and one silver medal in the sprint and long jump. 

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has removed, with immediate effect, the Tunisian National Anti-Doping Agency (ANAD) from the list of Signatories not in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code (Code).

British Olympic Association chief executive Andy Anson has expressed "concern" about the opening ceremony for the Paris 2024 Games on the Seine after French president Emmanuel Macron said it could be moved to a stadium in the event of a security threat.
