Mountain bike enthusiasts now have a rare opportunity to compete and compare their times with some of Europe's best riders in a beautiful and challenging terrain. The UEC MTB Marathon European Championships will be held in Viborg on 18 August 2024.

'Save the Dream' and its partners in the EU ERASMUS+ Crossing the Boundaries through Sport 'CrosSport' project, the International Olympic Truce Centre (IOTC), Spain's Fundación Sevilla FC and Italy's Fondazione Lazio 1900, hosted the project's final conference at the Centro Desportivo Nacional do Jamor in Lisbon, Portugal.

From 1 July 2024, around 86,000 German sports clubs can apply for the "Stars of Sport" 2025 award, which is jointly organised by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken. The 2025 World Mixed Doubles and World Senior Curling Championships will be held at the Willie O'Ree Place in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada from 26 April to 3 May. Mixed martial arts (MMA) has obtained national sport recognition in Thailand by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), due to the work of the Thai Association of Mixed Martial Arts (TAMMA), a member of the international federation for the sport of MMA.

The Olympic Torch lit up the Doubs département to showcase this green corner of the world, an ideal destination for a break from the daily grind, but also to pay tribute to the athletes who work hard every day to keep the department moving. The highlight was the Para-Triathlon Team Relay with 113 Torchbearers, from the first, Sébastien Loeb, to the last, biathlete Anaïs Bescond, who lit the cauldron in Besançon.

ASOIF (Association of Summer Olympic International Federations) has recognised the International Hockey Federation (FIH) transparency and good governance practices, its efforts to consistently deliver and live the Olympic Values and its sustainability efforts, as confirmed by the promotion of the FIH to the higher tier of International Federations in its fifth Governance Review.

The European Senior Fencing Championships have come to an end, with 12 individual and team events for men and women in the disciplines of epee, foil and sabre. The event took place in the St. Jakobshalle, with fencers from 38 countries taking part.
