The SAMBO World Cup will take place in Yerevan, Armenia from 4-5 April. The World Cup is a qualifying tournament where competitors can gain their first ranking points of the year. For combat sambists, it is one of the selection stages for the World Games, which will be held in Chengdu, China, from 7 to 17 August 2025.

From The 38th European Taekwon-Do Championships, the 29th European Junior Championships and the 1st European Pre-Junior Championships will be held in Lublin, Poland, from 17 to 21 April 2024. 

Donia Abu Taleb has become the first female taekwondo athlete from Saudi Arabia to qualify for the Olympic Games. She reached the final of the women's -49 kg category at the Asian Qualifying Tournament to book her place at Paris 2024.

Algeria won five Olympic berths in Greco-Roman wrestling, Nigeria dominated in women's wrestling and Egypt took four in men's freestyle wrestling at the African & Oceania Olympic Games Qualifiers held in Alexandria, Egypt from 22-24 March.

There were four Georgian athletes on the final day of the 2024 Judo Tbilisi Grand Slam, but only two represented their homeland. It was the last day of an interesting and intense event in the capital of the Caucasian country.

Olympic and World Champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili was the main hero on the second day of the 2024 Judo Grand SlamTbilisi. The Georgian legend had plenty of support from the home crowd and he didn't disappoint.

Eterli Liparteliani won the women's -57 kg at the 2024 Judo Tbilisi Grand Slam to the delight of the Georgian crowd, but it was not her only success on the first day of competition.  

Egypt's dominance at the 2023 African Games was also reflected in some of the combat sports, in an important part of its record breaking 100 gold medals in the whole biggest continental sporting event.

The President's Cup held last week at the Palacio de los Deportes in Heredia, Costa Rica, was a true spectacle of athletic prowess and international camaraderie. Over 1200 athletes from 33 different countries gathered to compete in Poomsae and Kyorugi.

SAMBO was included in the programme of the African Games for the first time. The historic debut took place on 19 March at the GCB Legon Hall in Ghana's capital, Accra.

The Kyorugi Taekwondo competition at the 2023 African Games took place from 17 to 20 March. Many of the athletes who qualified for Paris 2024 competed in Accra.

Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club dominated the adult competition at the NAS Sports Jiu-Jitsu Tournament, held at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai. The two-day tournament, which culminated in exciting fights on Monday night, saw Sharjah Self-Defence take first place. 

Omar Yaser Ismail made history over the weekend at the Asian Qualifying Tournament in Tai'an, China, becoming the first Palestinian taekwondo athlete to earn a ticket to the Olympic Games.

Following the intensive Executive Committee workshop in Warsaw, Poland, at the beginning of March, ITF Standing Committee Chairs met virtually a week later.
